Marj Quinn
Congregation Council Member
Marj first joined St. John’s in 1971 as a high school junior. Her marriage to Bob took her away from the Erie area only to return 25 years later in 1997. They have two grown daughters and one granddaughter. Serving Christ by serving others in the church and in the community is what our faith teaches us. Whether as being a youth leader, choir member or serving on church council, all service is to give God the glory.
Bob Bestvina

Paul Rapela
Congregation Council Member
Paul married into St. John’s Lutheran Church about 25 years ago when he met his lovely bride Erica. They have a combined 4 grown children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Paul is retired from GE and has worked on rental properties for years. Paul looks forward to helping the St. John’s Council, our membership, and the surrounding community.
Tim Durst
Congregation Council Member
Tim is a life-long member of St. Johns who met his wife Leslye in Sunday school more than 25 years ago. He and his wife reside in Millcreek with their three children Nolan, Brennen, and Nora. Tim owns and operates Durst Trucking Company, a business started by his grandfather in 1935. When not working you will find him outdoors or cheering on his children at various events. As a member of council Tim is striving to accurately represent those whom elected him while continuing to promote full transparency.
Barb Kulisek
Congregation Council Member
Barb and her husband Bob live in McKean along with their daughters Kellie and Emma. Barb is a Bookkeeper at Amthor Steel. The family loves to spend as much time outdoors as they can whether it be kayaking, four wheeling, or sitting by the fire. Barb has served on Church Council two terms before and is back again. Barb looks forward to helping St. John’s move in a positive direction.
Carolyn Sturtevant
Congregation Council Member
Carolyn Sturtevant serves on St. John’s Lutheran Church Council and both Chancel and Bell choirs. As a second generation member baptized and raised in faith at St. John’s, she enjoys exploring the history of the congregation. Carolyn feeds and watches birds year-round.
